Did The Crime Fit The Punishment

For this task we talked about the crime punishment.

We talked about 3 people that stole the war medals of new zealand. We wrote it on a google draw, perspective A means why and perspective B why they have to be punished. Our opinion s that it did fit the crime punishment because they stole 96 war medals, It is like stealing their history for fighting for the country. 96 of those medals worth alot of money because it has important historys of when the soldiers were fighting. Our summary is that James Kapa is going to jail for 13 years.

I enjoyed this activity because it was interesting to see how many war medals they stole.

PB4L

For this task we did PB4L.

We talked about what the rules and behavior are, some rules are important like dont talk when the teachers talking. In LS2 we be respectful and we listen to our teacher when they teach. Because if you dont listen you wont know what to do. We wrote rules and behaviours that we do in this class to our DLO.

I enjoyed this activity because I learnt the rules and behaviours of this class.

Addition Algorithm

LI: Carry numbers to the next column if needed

For this task we did addition algorithm.

To do addition algorithm the first digit of your number will add with the bottem, if your number goes over ten then take 1 from the ten and put it on top of the second digit. Then when you done your second digit answer you add the one onto your second digit answer and it goes 1 number up. Do the same to the rest of your digits and you will get your answer.

I enjoyed this activity because it was fun to learn the addition algorithm.

Subtraction Algorithm

LI: To subtract using algorithm.

For this task I did subtraction algorithm.

To do subtraction algorithm you have to subtract the bottom, if the top digits are not bigger than the bottom digits then you borrow one number from the other digits and then your number will have a 10. After you done that put your answer under the line.

I enjoyed this activity because it was easy to do subtract algorithm.

Rounding

LI: Round numbers up to the millions and two decimal places.

For this task we rounded up the numbers.

If you have to round up the thousands digit number you look in front of the thousands digit and see if its a high number or low number. If the number is low the thouands digit doesent change but the numbers in front of it change to zero, if the number is high then the thousands digit go 1 number up and the numbers in front of it change to zero.

Muitiplacation Algorithm

LI: Write a vertical algorithm.

For this task did muiltiplacation algorithm.

Muiltiplacation algorithm is like a easy way of solving hard questions. To do this the first digit of the top number is going to muiltiply all the numbers at the bottem, then you put your answer under the line. After that you continue that with the other digit numbers. If your number goes over 10 you put it on top of the other numbers. lastly you add your answers all together and your finished.

I enjoyed this activity because it was fun to learn about muiltiplacation algorithm.

Howick Historical Village

For this task we went on a trip to Howick Historical Village.

In the Howick Historical Village the ladys introduced us and told us what the villages were about. The houses in the village were old from 1847. The village a had a bar with bottles, I saw dead birds hanged by their legs in the bar. The houses had old beds, there was a house that was almost like a mansion because it was very big and had a 2 story. Next we built small wooden karts and could steer it with our legs. Lastly we made butter with cream, we were singing a song made by one of the ladys while making the butter. After we made the butter they put it on rice crackers. I enjoyed this activity because it was fun to see the old houses.

Sentence Structure

LI: To understand sentence structions.

For this task we learned sentence structure.

First we picked a picture and wrote a sentence about it. Then we played a game called Rags to Riches.

Rags to Riches is a quiz that is about you choosing what sentence this is, is it a compound sentence or simple sentence or a complex sentence. You can win 1 million dollars in this game but the money is not real. My score was 8000 dollars. Complex sentences have 2 independent clauses, compound includes FANBOYS and has 1 or 2 independent clauses and simple is an understandable sentence with only one independent clause. I enjoyed this activity because it was fun to guess what the answers were in Rags to Riches.

3 Different Kind of Sentences

For this task we talked about what the 3 sentences are.

First we go into a group of 2 and create a google draw. Then we wrote what the 3 sentences were. The 3 sentences were simple, compound and complex. Simple sentences is a more understandable way of a sentences, compound is about your sentence using FANBOYS, fanboys means for, and, nor, but, or, your and so. Lastly complex means your sentences has a capital letter at the start with commas in your story and a full stop at the end.

Our Whenua

LI: To Connect to the whenua around PBS

For this task we created a google map.

First we go into a group of 2. Then we mark the street roads and type the information of the history behind it. There are many inspiring historys behind the streets. Lastly we mark the other schools onto our google map and type what they are about. I enjoyed this activity because it was interesting to read about what the schools around us are about.
