Olympic Quiz

LI: To skim and scan to find facts about the modern Olympics and make notes in my own words.

For this task we did the Olympics Quiz.

I partered up with one of my group members and went around the room to write questions about reading. We mostly were writing about the olympics and were writing questions about it. Then we put those questions on our google form and put answers on it. After that we then get everything from the google form and make it to a kahoot.

I enjoyed this activity because it was fun to make a quiz.

Rosie Ruiz Fakes Boston Marathon Win

LI: To make inferences about the events in the text using the clues provided by the author.

For this task we were reading about Rosie Ruiz.

First we look at the pictures to make our prediction about what will happen in the story. Then we have to define some words in the text. Rosie is a cheater who cheated in the boston marathon by taking the train to the other side. When we finish reading we answer all the questions in the text and then see if our predictionis right.

I enjoyed this activity because it was interesting to know how Rosie cheated in the race.

Poros of Malia

For this task we were reading about Pors of Malia.

First we made our predictions about Poros and then define some words. Then we read the story and then comment what the questions told us about him. Many of our comments were interesting. At the end we comment if our prediction was right or wrong then we do a super challenge. Our challenge was to write fast facts in 2 minutes.

I enjoyed this task becaue the story of Poros was interesting to me.

Poros of Malia DLO

For this task we were learning about Poros of Malia.

Poros of Malia was a well known man in the ancient greeks olympics. In his story he had anxiety. Anxiety means they are very nervous. Poros was anxious because I think he was scared that everyone was watching him. Poros had pretended that no one was looking at him so he cleared his mind to stop being nervous and to win. He won the race and was awarded a olive crown and other rewards.

I enjoyed this task because it was interesting to see that he cleared his mind from being nervous.

Thinking Grid

LI: To determine prior knowledge.

For this task we made a thinking grid.

For the thinking grid it tells us things we know about water safety. We write what we know about water safety and how to survive it. I learnt that if we keep air in our lungs in the water we can float.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt alot of things about water safety.

Boat Safety

LI: To learn how and why we need to stay safe in and around water.

For this task we did boat safety.

Boat safety is important to know when you are riding a boat. Its important because your boat might break or have been attacked or hit by something. We wrote 6 reasons why its important and what to do in your boat safety. You should always have a life jacket so you dont drown.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt things about boat safety.

Water Saftey

LI: To learn how and why we need to stay safe in and around water.

For this task we were learning about water safety.

It is important to learn water safety because it helps you know what to do when you are drowning in the water. We made our own DLO of how to survive and what to do in the water. We put 5 things of water safety in order to not drown in the water.

I enjoyed this task because it helped me know how to survive when drowning and to know water safety.

Kahoot Ancient Olympics

5 Myths About the Ancient Olympics | HISTORY

For this task we were making a kahoot of the ancient olympics.

We made a quiz of 10 things about the ancient olympics. We took the questions from the google form and pasted it on to our quiz. Then we wrote the answers and then pasted a image to complete our quiz in kahoot.

I enjoyed this task because it was fun to make our own kahoot quiz.

Tivaevae Design

 

For this task we did Tivaevae.

We did this because it was cook island language week. Me and my partner were working together and designing our own tivaevae and our background. After that we copy and paste our tivaevae to our background and then we are dont.

I enjoyed this activity because it was fun to design our work.

Violet Walrond

LI: To practise skimming and scanning by looking for keywords in the text when answering questions

For todays activity we worked on Violet Walrond, first we looked at the pictures in the book, then we write what we think is going to happen in the story. After that we were reading by just looking at the words fast, we did this so we can find the important words but not just read the story. We find important words to answer our questions.

I found this interesting because there was things that I missed.
